Gingerboy – Crossley St, Melbourne

The night before a mid-week public holiday is definitely an excuse to have a mid-week date night! Well doesn’t take much for PG and I to justify any sort of date night – Iron Man 3 had just come out, and we were both looking forward to seeing it! But put the thought of going out to dinner in my head, and i’m not sure which one I was more excited about ;) It had been a long while since we’d last been to Gingerboy, and it was about time for another visit. So I had made an early booking and we were set to enjoy some beautiful food!

Knowing that we didn’t want to stuff ourselves with food that night, we opted to pick off the menu instead of going with the banquet which was chef’s selection.

The Verdict

None of the dishes disappointed, and neither did our second visit to Gingerboy. Everything was just as delicious as we remembered! The service on the day lacked a little warmth, and there was a long wait between a couple of our courses because they forgot our dishes, but they were apologetic and we didn’t need to ask about them, they did eventually notice themselves. We didn’t say anything as we were fine waiting, it was actually good to have a little break and let our food digest a little. Highly recommend visiting if you are looking for somewhere to dine that has a relaxed vibe and great food! Also a great place to dine with a group of friends :)
