Ezard – Flinders Lane, Melbourne

Ezard has always been a favourite restaurant for PG and I. We’ve visited a few times over the last 5 or so years, but never had the opportunity to treat ourselves to the full degustation menu. Holding a 2 hat rating in the Good Food Age Guide since 1999; as well as winning the ‘Diner’s choice award‘ in 2013; combined with our own repeated amazing experiences at the restaurant, it was a no-brainier where PG and I were going to celebrate our third wedding anniversary. Words cannot describe how excited we both were once the booking was made. We chose to do the full degustation with matching wines. Excuse the quality of the photos, as they were taken with my iphone – didn’t want to carry my camera with me on our romantic anniversary dinner :p

The Verdict

Another amazing experience at Ezard, with every dish impressing more than the next. We were so full by the end of it, as every dish was quite rich, but not so much that we couldn’t enjoy every bite up until the last course. The service was impeccable, and the wines; sake and champagne were well matched to each course. I have to say, I am so happy that I had the opportunity to experience the degustation at Ezard. Even if you are not one who normally splurges on these dining experience, the ingredients and flavours used are not anything that would push you out of your comfort zone. So trust me…this is a restaurant you must visit at least once, even if it’s just to order off the a la carte menu.
